Delivering Successful Local Communities

Delivering Successful Local Communities will be distributed by a series of live and recorded free to view webinars. Sign up today for the Transport Network newsletter to ensure you gain access to the video presentations.

The webinars will provide knowledge, best practice, advice and outcomes for all those responsible for improving communities and the quality of life for those who live and work there, including those planning, implementing and delivering connected infrastructure to help enable local growth, enhance prosperity and productivity.

Local authority directors are facing a number of challenges as they attempt to improve communities and ensure infrastructure, people and places are connected both to improve quality of life and to help boost the local economy. These challenges span across a number of areas, including house building, health, energy, air quality and other environmental concerns as well as new and emerging challenges such as the Industrial Strategy, Transport Investment Strategy, as well as social and economic factors and other regeneration priorities. All this has to be achieved against a backdrop of fluctuating budgets and new ways of working, including devolution.

As a result of this, local authority directors with a responsibility for all these areas need to find new and different ways of working to achieve their aims as well as redefining relationships between local authority departments and the public and private sectors.

Delivering Successful Local Communities brings together a number of different stakeholders with a responsibility for managing services in local communities, and their private sector partners, consultants and contractors and other key industry stakeholders and associations to give insight into how to make a success of local communities to deliver more effective and efficient services.

Confirmed speakers include representatives from Lancashire County Council, WSP, Hounslow Highways, University of Manchester, University of Edinburgh, East Sussex Council, Cambridge City Council and more.
